Permian Basin Scholarship for Petroleum and Mechanical Engineering

Longtime Midland resident Bill Wallace established the Permian Basin Scholarship for Petroleum and Mechanical Engineering for undergraduate students at the University of Texas at Austin, Cockrell School of Engineering. Open to students in Petroleum and Mechanical Engineering; applicants will be graduates of high schools located in the following counties: Andrews, Borden, Crane, Dawson, Ector, Gaines, Glasscock, Howard, Loving, Martin, Midland, Pecos, Reeves, Terrell, Upton, Ward or Winkler.

This scholarship is awarded on the following criteria:
• capacity to succeed in academics,
• acceptance to the University of Texas at Austin, Cockrell School of Engineering,
• interest in pursuing a professional career in the field of petroleum or mechanical engineering,
• demonstrates commitment to Christian principles and lifestyle.

To be considered for this scholarship, students should complete the scholarship section of the admission application for The University of Texas at Austin through ApplyTexas by the December 1st deadline, marking Engineering as the first-choice major.
